• What did they believe
• Maybe what misunderstood verses did they use
• What problem were they trying to solve
• Seems a lot of it is to avoid saying something "not logical" or "not explainable"
• What groups believed it
• Any groups that believe it today?
• When/how was it refuted 
• Etc.
