Importance of the Scripture

• Recommend for each person to keep a small bible in their pocket or purse
• Recommend for each person to have a chair in their house dedicated to reading and benefitting
• Many people read the Bible as a study, but what is more important is the spiritual benefit in the spiritual and practical life of the person
• The Holy Bible is the greatest message
  • When St Antony got a letter from Emperor Constantine, he put it next to him and didn’t read it. So his disciples said to him “You got a letter from the emperor and you didn’t read it?!?” He said “my sons, God sends us a letter every day in the Holy Bible… do we value its reading as much as you value the letter from the emperor?”
  • St Antony, from one verse he heard in the church, it changed his whole life (“If you want to be perfect, go and sell what you have”)
• Open the Bible… but also open your heart as you read it
